Prior to working at Cannabis Law Solutions, Melissa interned with the United States Department of Justice and the Pennsylvania Department of Labor & Industry where she researched and analyzed complex regulatory legal issues. During her time as a Certified Legal Intern and Clinic Leader with the Harrisburg Civil Law Clinic, Melissa gained experience guiding clients through the legal process.

- Represented medical marijuana company in appealing New Jersey Alternative Treatment Center application denial in Matter of the Application for Medicinal Marijuana Alternative Treatment Center for Pangaea Health and Wellness, LLC, 465 N.J. Super. 343 (App. Div. 2020) (vacating New Jersey Department of Health’s denial of medical marijuana grower and dispensary applications and remanding to address application scoring anomalies), on remand before the New Jersey Department of Health, and in Matter of Cannabis Regul. Comm’n Disqualification of Bloom Medicinals of PA, LLC, No. A-0569-21, 2023 WL 3237339 (N.J. Super. Ct. App. Div. May 4, 2023) (unreported) (holding that New Jersey Cannabis Regulatory Commission erred in disqualifying certain applicants based on those applicants’ approval under a subsequent Request for Applications, but affirming the application denials based on the Commission’s remand).
- Represented Energy Transfer in Right-to-Know Law appeals in Pennsylvania appellate courts involving the Public Utility Confidential Security Information Disclosure Protection Act.
- Represents California Attorney General in appeals before FERC and the Ninth Circuit.
- Represents Pennsylvania Professional Liability Joint Underwriting Association in Third Circuit appeals from orders declaring Pennsylvania statutes unconstitutional.
